To start installing and using the Panda3D runtime, you first need to tell Debian where to find the Panda3D repository.

Adding the repository to Debian

Step 1: On your Debian computer, open the file /etc/apt/sources.list using your favorite text editor. Note that you need to modify this file as the root user.

Step 2: Paste the following line and confirm: (replace "squeeze" with the codename of your version of Debian)

deb squeeze main

Step 3: Type the following commands in a terminal emulator:

sudo apt-key adv --keyserver --recv-keys E375BC9D

sudo apt-get update

You're now ready to install software from the Panda3D repository!

Installing the Panda3D Runtime package

Now that you have added the Panda3D repository, you can install the Panda3D runtime by using your favorite package manager and installing the "panda3d-runtime" package. Instructions vary per package manager.
