As a little experiment, we’ve been setting up torrent downloads for the SDK downloads (only for the 1.8.1 release, so far). This should help people who want to download Panda3D but have an unreliable internet connection.
The panda3d download server acts as a permanent seed both via the trackers and DHT; so downloading via BitTorrent will never be worse than a regular HTTP download, and I would encourage use of BitTorrent for all future downloads.
If you want to try it out, there should be a “torrent” link next to every download link on the 1.8.1 SDK download page. Magnet links will become available in the future as well.
