Set $wgShowExceptionDetails = true; at the bottom of LocalSettings.php to show detailed debugging information.when pressing upload.

Anon, thank you so much for taking the time to make these screenshots! Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to resolve the issue with the manual’s upload tool, but I just went ahead and manually replaced the images on the server.
