David, you are great infinite source of panda knowledge - now if you hang around #panda3d freenode irc my life would be complete.
i was wrong its not (b) … i did many many test of very similar to my planet map but without it and no i cant get it to fail no matter how hard i try.
You win its (a) and i am happy doing OmniBoundingVolume because i am culling at the patch level for my planet (this is where the other errors come) and it must be my program again because my independent tests have shown no errors… and i have hunches why it might be wrong … i hope i solve this soon its driving me nuts!
