Panda3D and Fedora 17

Has anyone been able to install v1.8 on Fedora 17 (I would try v1.7.2 but there are no .rpm files for Fedora)?

I seem to have a multitude of missing libraries, but I’ve no idea where to get them from.

panda3d-1.8.0-1.x86_64 requires libcxcore.so.2.1()(64bit)
panda3d-1.8.0-1.x86_64 requires libCg.so()(64bit)
panda3d-1.8.0-1.x86_64 requires libhighgui.so.2.1()(64bit)
panda3d-1.8.0-1.x86_64 requires libOSMesa.so.6()(64bit)
panda3d-1.8.0-1.x86_64 requires libcv.so.2.1()(64bit)
panda3d-1.8.0-1.x86_64 requires libCgGL.so()(64bit)
panda3d-1.8.0-1.x86_64 requires libcvaux.so.2.1()(64bit)
panda3d-1.8.0-1.x86_64 requires libml.so.2.1()(64bit)

Any suggestions (do I need to use an earlier version of Fedora)?

Cheers,

N.

You have to build Panda from source in order to use it on Fedora 17, sorry.

Many of the required dependencies can be found in the RPM Fusion repositories.

Thanks for the update. I was hoping that a newer distro (such as Fed 17) would be a better choice. Installed a Debian 6.0.5 as a test. Still had some packages missing, but they were much easier to find. All works OK (thus far) under Debian.
