Some expectations for Panda3D SDK 1.9

Hi,
Since more and more users are used 64 bit operating system like Ubuntu 64 bit and Windows 7 64 bit, and since Ubuntu 13.04 was released officially. Below are some expectations for Panda3D SDK 1.9:

1. Supply Ubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) x86/x64 deb or apt install support;
2. Supply 64 bit SDK for Windows 7 64 bit support;

I hope these will be implemented in Panda3D SDK 1.9, thanks!

Both were planned for 1.9.0, as it happens.

Fantastic!

For Panda3D 1.8.1 SDK for Mac OS X, it said that “Currently, it requires Mac OSX 10.5 (Leopard) or 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and the NVIDIA Cg Toolkit.”

Why it needs the NVIDIA Cg Toolkit?

If possible, I want to add another expectation:
3. Supply SDK for Mac OS X 10.8+

I’m using the latest CVS version of the Panda3D SDK without a problem on 10.7. I have no doubt that it will work on 10.8 as well.

It needs the NVIDIA Cg Toolkit because we can’t legally ship it as part of the Panda build, IIRC. Well, we couldn’t until they recently relaxed the licensing terms, so I suppose we can evaluate shipping it along now.

I will test it on Mac OS X 10.8. (Though it seems that homebrew does not has a Panda3D formula :frowning: )

Good news!

I’m not sure when 1.9 arrives, but Raring is “end of life” in less than 5 months. A build would be wasted time, I think.
