Does it happen with the default release for you?

Can you show me (on a PM or email, if you so wish) the code where you initiate the KCC along with that where you create the ground object?

Another thing I haven’t asked about. Is there any way to stop the KCC once it stops sliding? I don’t know, jumping, pressing movement keys, crouching?

Sorry for the flood of questions with no proposed solution, but since I have no way of recreating it, I also have no way of tracing it down and solving other than asking you stuff that I hope can help.
