Jam-o-Drum Games
The Jam-o-Drum is a circular table with an overhead
projector, and four steering-wheel like controllers.
It's a great way to play multiplayer games: there's something
much more exciting when you're facing your opponent instead
of facing an anonymous TV.
The first game in this section, Neon Nibblers, is possibly the most
enjoyable game ever made at the ETC. I'm sure you've played games
where snakes eat apples, but this takes it to another level: the game
is much more elegant, and the face-to-face competition adds a lot to
the game.
Building Virtual Worlds is a class at Carnegie Mellon's
Entertainment Technology Center. Groups of four or five students have
only two weeks to make a game. It is surprising how much they can
accomplish in that time.
